Indian stock markets end strong at the Diwali Mahurat Trading 2018 between 5:15 and 6:30 pm today. NSE's Nifty ended closer to its 10,600-mark, rising 68.40 points or 0.65 percent at 10598.40. BSE's Sensex closed 245.77 points or 0.70 percent higher at 35237.68.

1,925 shares advanced, 439 declined, and 130 remained unchanged. The indices made their best gains since 20118, led by Infosys, ITC and Reliance Industries Ltd. Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys, and HPCL were the biggest gainers, while Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, and Zee Entertainment slumped the most. All BSE sector gauges ended higher with the BSE Auto Index gaining 1 percent. The auto sector also led the gains on NSE, followed by banks, FMCG, IT and metals.

The Mid and Small Caps also saw some positive action. The S&P BSE MidCap Index advanced 0.8 percent, while the S&P BSE SmallCap Index rose 1.2 percent.E-commerce website, Infibeam Avenues was the top gainer in the Nifty 500 Index rising as much as 21 percent to Rs 53.
