Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Holidays List
The Bombay Stock Exchange is popularly known as BSE. It was founded in 1875 and the BSE Towers, popularly known as Jeejeebhoy Towers is currently located in Dalal Street, Mumbai, the state capital of Maharashtra. It is one of the oldest stock exchange in Asia and 10th largest stock exchange in the globe and has an overall market capitalization of over $2.3 trillion as of April 2018.
Products of BSE
The products of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) includes corporate data products, market data products, EOD products and other data products. The market data products include derivatives, equities and indices. The technology services provided by BSE includes colocation, proximity hosting, order management system, direct market access, mobile trading, electronic contract notes, smart order routing and so on. It provides a complete platform to trade debt, equities, currency pairs and so on. It is used as a platform for accumulating funds by most of the Indian enterprises.

The stock market will operate on five days in a week starting from Monday to Friday between 9:15 am - 3:30 pm (IST). The BSE stock exchange and the NSE stock exchange will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The exchange has no lunch break and will operate continuously beginning from the opening bell till the closing bell.
The Indian stock market holidays are observed on twelve days every year and most of the holidays are the observed dates and not on the actual date. The share market is sometimes closed for multiple days for a holiday or they have modified hours instead of fully closing the stock exchange.
For Example, there will be Muhurat trading on the auspicious festive occasion on Diwali. During this period the Indian Stock Market will witness trading activity for some time and is usually held during evening time.
The BSE holidays list and NSE holidays list remains same. The BSE remains closed on all the national holidays of India.

National Stock Exchange (NSE) Holidays List 2019
The National Stock Exchange or NSE is the prominent stock exchange in India. The NSE was established in 1992. It was the first demutualized electronic exchange in India. It is the 11th largest stock exchange in the world and has an estimated total market capitalization of above $2.27 trillion as of April 2018.
Products of NSE
The National Stock Exchange offers a huge gamut of products for traders. So to keep it simple, it is clubbed into four categories namely - Capital markets, debt instruments, derivatives and trackers. Products under capital markets include mutual funds, stocks, exchange-traded funds, offer for sale and indices. Derivatives include stock derivatives, NSE bond futures, currency derivatives. Debt instruments mainly consist of NSE EBP and Corporate bonds. Trackers of NSE include India VIX, Bank Nifty, Overseas Indices. NSE provides a fully integrated digital trading module which includes technology-oriented services, settlement and clearing services, data feed offerings, online trading services, services for financial literacy and so on.

The NSE operates on weekdays between Monday to Friday and will remain closed on all the Saturdays and Sundays. The opening bell of NSE is at 9:15 am and the closing bell is at 3:30 pm (IST). The exchange has no lunch break and will operate continuously starting from the opening bell till the closing bell.
The National Stock Exchange in India offers clearing, trading and settlement services in equity derivatives, equity, debt and currency derivatives segments. It has to its credit the first one to introduce electronic trading facility in a stock exchange in India, with an intention to connect the entire investor base in the country.

Traders and investors may therefore have an extended period of holiday, given the weekend.
