Wipro, Adani Ports To Be Removed From Sensex In December
Asia Index is making some changes to its indices which will be effective from 24 December 2018. On Thursday it said that it will be dropping IT major Wipro Ltd and Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd from BSE Sensex. These will be replaced by HCL Technologies and Bajaj Finance.
Asia Index Private Ltd is the provider of financial market indices started as a 50-50 partnership venture between BSE and S&P Dow Jones Indices.

It further said that on its S&P BSE 100 index, Power Finance Corporation will be replaced by Edelweiss Financial Services. In the Sensex 50 index, Bharti Infratel, Lupin and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation will be excluded and these firms will be replaced by Bajaj Finserv, Britannia Industries and JSW Steel.
On the BSE Bankex, City Union Bank will take Punjab National Bank's place. On BSE 200, PC Jewellers Ltd, Engineers India Ltd and The New India Assurance Company will be replaced by Abbott India Ltd, HEG Ltd and L&T Technology Services Ltd. There were also 13 changes made to BSE 500.
"Effective at the open of Monday, December 24, 2018, ...changes will be made to these indices," the website noted.
