IndiGo Gets A New CEO

Interglobe Aviation, the operator of IndiGo Airlines, announced the appointment of Ronojoy Dutta as the company's new Chief Operating Officer (CEO) on Thursday with immediate effect. The appointment comes 8 months after the resignation of former chief Aditya Ghosh.

Further, the company also announced the appointment of Meleveetil Damodaran, the Independent Non-Executive Director, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Interglobe Aviation.

Dutta, 67, is appointed as the company CEO for the next five years. He has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He had co-founded and was the Managing Director of ACO Investment, an investment advisory firm in the field of aviation and infrastructure. He also served as the President of Air Sahara from 2005 to 2008 and was the President of United Airlines between 1999 and 2002.
