Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will not be presenting the interim Budget 2019 due to be announced next week as he is likely go through surgery as per sources with information on the matter. Meanwhile, on an interim basis, the position of a finance minister has now been handed over to Railways and Coal minister, Piyush Goyal.

The interim budget this year is expected to be beyond the usual vote on account to please the angry farmers whose income stream has go haywire due to low crop prices. Also, to woo maximum votes, the government may increase tax exemption limit.

Also, there will be an attempt to boost job creation. As per the sources, the job of presenting the budget will be taken over by Piyush Goyal.

Jaitley, a key member of the inner circle of Modi, has gone to the US for medical health check up. He underwent a gastric bypass operation in 2014 and kidney transplant surgery last year.
