The Interim Budget 2019 has received mixed reactions from the public and members of the government. Focused on providing relief to the farmers and middle-class sections of the country, the budget speech was followed by a series of tweets with comments and reactions from the Indian ministers and politicians.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley called the budget "Pro-Growth, Fiscally prudent, Pro-Farmer, Pro-Poor."

Minister of Commerce and Industry, Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu said that the budget focused on "3 main components of our glorious nation - people, progress & prosperity."

Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, said that he was confident that the government will be able to rejuvenate all the rivers in the next 10 years as announced by the FM today.

Chief Minister of the state of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, said that the budget "will help achieve the dream of a 'New India'."

Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament (for Thiruvananthapuram at the Lok Sabha) from the Indian National Congress Party feels that tax exemption to the middle class was the "one good thing" and felt that the income support announced for farmers was insufficient, as per his statement to ANI.

Smriti Irani, the Member of Parliament elected to the Rajya Sabha from Gujarat, congratulated Prime Minister Modi for giving a "holistic budget."
