We have been already vigilant to aggressive measures taken to boost passenger safety and faster trains on Indian Railways. And Piyush Goyal in the Railway Budget 2019-20 is expected to announce planned expenditure to the tune of Rs. 1.6 lakh crore for the behemoth, which means a 148% increase in capex in comparison to the levels announced in 2014.

As per the reports, of the total planned expenditure that will be announced for the Indian railways, Rs. 60,000 crore will be financed through extra budgetary resources or borrowings, institutional financing. And for this no parliamentary approval is required.
Also, there can be a mention of manufacturing state-of-the-art train sets that perhaps are export worthy in the Railways Budget 2019 that forms the part of the broader Union Budget 2019 speech.
Further as part of the CSR initiative, Tata group is being roped in by the government to offer free high-speed WiFi on over 4,000 railway stations.
