Sensex Closes 358 Pts Higher; Nifty Above 11,050
Benchmark indices started trade today on a strong note, with the Nifty crossing 11,000 points for the first time since October 1, 2018.

NSE's Nifty closed 128.10 points higher at 11,062.50 while BSE's Sensex was up 358.42 points to end at 36975.23.
Tech Mahindra after reporting its Q3FY19 earnings surged by over 6% to record a 52-week high of Rs. 800 on both the NSE and BSE. The software services company's profit increased 13% sequentially to Rs. 1,203 crore.
JSW steel rose as much as 1.2% to Rs 276.80 per share ahead of the company's earnings for the December-ended quarter due to be announced today.
Shares of Infosys also surged to a new all-time high of Rs. 766.95 on the NSE. In the last 12 months time, the stock has given returns to the tune of 33%.
All the sectoral indices on NSE closed higher led by metal and IT that recorded 2 percent gain each, followed by auto, energy, FMCG, and Pharma.
