Income Tax E-Refund: Now You Need To Revalidate Your Bank Account


From March 1, 2019 only e-refunds will be issued by the income tax department and the same shall be credited only to bank accounts that are linked to a particular PAN.
Also, you are required to pre-validate your bank account for receiving income tax refund with the e-filing portal of the income tax department.


Income Tax E-Refund: Now You Need To Revalidate Your Bank Account

So, henceforth if your bank account and PAN are not linked, you need to provide the details of the same to your bank, to receive income tax refund w.e.f March 1, 2019.

And if your bank account details are there on the e-filing portal, pre-validation can be done via net banking and EVC or electronic verification code method. Alternatively, if your bank account is not specified in the e-filing portal, then the department of tax will do the validation of the bank account basis the details filed by you.

The department has asked taxpayers to link their bank accounts and PAN for receiving refund swiftly, directly and securely in the bank account.
