The Finance Ministry on Friday said that the GST (Goods and Service Tax) collected for the month of February came down to Rs 97,247 crore from Rs 1.02 lakh crore collected in January. The statement also said that 73.48 lakh sales return or GSTR-3B were filed for the month of January up to 28 February 2019.
"The total gross GST revenue collected in February 2019 is Rs 97,247 crore of which Central GST is Rs 17,626 crore, State GST (SGST) is Rs 24,192 crore, Integrated GST (IGST) is Rs 46,953 crore and Cess is Rs 8,476 crore."
The total collection for the current financial year 2018-2019 till February has been Rs Rs 10.70 lakh crore. The Central Government had lowered its target for GST collection to Rs 11.47 lakh crore in the revised estimates from the earlier budget of Rs 13.71 lakh crore. The target for the next fiscal year 2019-20 has been set at Rs 13.71 lakh crore.
