LPG Cylinder Prices Increased For The Second Consecutive Time
Prices of subsidized and non-subsidized LPG cylinders in India were increased for the second consecutive month by oil marketing companies. These rates are revised at the beginning of every month based on international oil prices and foreign exchange rates in the preceding month.
With effect from 1 April 2019, prices of 14.2 kg subsidized LPG cylinders were increased by 25 paise across metro cities while prices of the rates of non-subsidized cylinders (also 14.2 kg) were hiked by Rs 5.

Previously, on 1 March, prices of cylinders were hiked by Rs 42.5. Consumers are allowed to avail government subsidy on 12 cylinders per year and pay full price on exhausting the limit.
Price of 19 kg LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 68.5 in Delhi to Rs 1305.5. Similarly, in Kolkata, Mumb, i and Chennai, the rates were increased to Rs 1354.5, Rs 1253.5 and Rs 1405, respectively.
Meanwhile, the price of kerosene sold through the public distribution system (PDS) was increased to Rs 32.54 per litre from Rs 32.24. The hike is in accordance with the 2016 decision to raise rates by 25 paise a litre each month till subsidy on the fuel is eliminated. Non-subsidised kerosene is priced at Rs 64,460.83 per kl (or Rs 64.46 per litre) in New Delhi.
