Rupee Opens Lower At 68.53

Rupee opens with at 68.53 with a loss of 11 paise in comparison to previous day's close of 68.42 per US dollar.

10-year benchmark bond yield also came in lower at 7.258% as against Wednesday's yield of 7.272%.

Nifty and Sensex arelikely to open higher ahead of monetary and credit policy by the RBI. Analysts are discounting a rate cut of 25 basis points in certainty and at the same time are looking for liquidity cues which is being filled in RBI's forex swap and OMO's.

During the day, rupee is likely to trade in the range of 68.30- 68.70 per US dollar.
