Indian Equity, Bond, Currency And Commodity Markets Closed Today

Indian equity, bond, currency and commodity markets are closed today on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.

In yesterday's trade on the back of strong global cues, both the benchmark indices hit new record highs and closed at a new record high, Nifty scaled to 11,787 points, adding 97 points, while Sensex gained 370 points to close at 39,275. In intra-day trade, both Nifty and Sensex breached previous record highs to hit 11,810.95 and 39,364 points, respectively.

Indian Equity, Bond, Currency And Commodity Markets Closed Today

Gains have been primarily led by banking stocks which saw continued buying from foreign investors.

IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, Titan, ONGC, and Grasim gained the most on Nifty, while Wipro, Cipla, GAIL, Infosys, and Tata Motors fell the most on the index.

Rupee in Tuesday's trade closed lower at 69.6087 per US dollar. And the yield on the 10-year government bond was recorded at 7.39%.
