Bringing relief to passengers dealing with flight cancellations since the grounding of of Jet Airways' services, government run Air India said on Friday that it will sell its last-minute tickets at a "hefty discount".
Without quantifying the extent of discount, the airline said in a statement that the very last minutes inventory within three hours of departure would be sold at a "hefty discount."
A PTI report citing an airline official said that Air India will be offering a flat 50 percent discount on these bookings, while a ANI report said that the discount would exceed 40 percent of the selling price.
The decision was taken at a commercial review meeting of the airline at its headquarters on Friday, the airline statement added. These tickets can be booked from its counters, on the website, on the mobile app, or through agent, it said.
