Using receipts sent to personal Gmail accounts, Google has been tracking of online purchases made by users over the years.
According to a report in CNBC on Friday, this information is being made available to its users via a private web tool and tech giant claims that it will keep this data private.

Google has also stressed that it does not use the information for personalized ad tracking, which it stopped using collected data from Gmail messages for, as per a statement made in 2017.
"To help you easily view and keep track of your purchases, bookings and subscriptions in one place, we've created a private destination that can only be seen by you," Google told The Verge in a statement.
"You can delete this information at any time. We don't use any information from your Gmail messages to serve you ads, and that includes the email receipts and confirmations shown on the Purchase page," it added. Information on how long this web tool has been active was not provided.
On 14 May, Google announced it will now allow ads to reflect on the homepage of its mobile app in the "Discover" section in a news feed layout and would be algorithmically personalised.
It also plans to place ads with up to eight pictures in its search results as part of its "Gallery Ads" feature. Ads would also appear on the homepage of Google Shopping, that allows users to personalise and filter features and brands they like.
