Virat Kohli Is The Only Indian In Forbes List Of Highest Paid Athletes 2019
Forbes Magazine released its annual list of highest paid athletes this week. The list, that ranks 100 athletes across 10 sports and those from 25 countries, includes only one Indian sportsperson, Virat Kohli.
The magazine said that salaries of athletes around the world have soared in the recent past, causing an increase in its cut-off to crack the world's 100 highest-paid athletes to USD 25 million this year, as against USD 17.3 million from five years ago.
Their combined earnings from prize money, salaries and endorsements between June 2018 and June 2019 is up by 5 percent from last year to USD 4 billion.
