As per the official, the Trump administration's decision to cancel officially the work permit of H4 visa holders will take longer as the process is not complete. The H4 visa holder is issued to spouses of H1 visa holders, majority of them are highly skilled and of Indian-origin.

An official is cited in a PTI report as saying that the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) continues with its review action on of the employment visa programmes that includes the H-4 EADs or employment authorisation car."No decision about the Obama administration regulation granting work authorisation to certain H-4 spouses is final until the rule making process is completed," the official said.

In the Obama rule, while some of the H4 visaholders were allowed work permit, in the recent agenda, there has been made a proposal to remove some of the H4 spouses of H1B non-immigrants as an alien class with eligibility for employment authorization.
The US administration proposed to cancel the work authorization for this class of immigrants but for some two years the rule has not been formally notified.
