The country's second Vande Bharat Express that will connect Delhi-Katra will likely become operational from next month, a source privy of the development told PTI. The train will run three days a week and with this the behemoth national carrier aims to monetize the route which generally witnesses heavy rush due to Vaishno Devi pilgrimage.
Also, the new Vande Bharat will reduce travel time between the 2 cities from current 12 hours to just 8 hours.

The country's first Vande Bharat Express connects Delhi and Varanasi and runs 5-days a week.
"The train will run every Monday, Thursday and Saturday for now. However, depending on the demand, we might extend it by two more days," the official said.
The train will start its journey from Delhi at 6:00 in the morning and reach Katra at 14:00 and will run at a speed of 130 kmph. The premium service will have only 2-minute stoppages at 3 other junctions besides its destination point.
Further, it is an improved version than the first Vande Bharat Express providing for adjustable seats, improved washbasins, a strong aluminium-clad nose cover for preventing damage due to cattle run-over and special anti-spall film on windows for protecion against stone pelting.
