Jio Makes 2 Special Announcements For Startups And Small Businesses
Seeing new commerce as a massive business opportunity, RIL Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani said that small must not only survive but also thrive in India. Reliance Jio will deploy IoT (Internet of Things), AI (Artificial Intelligence) and blockchain on a pan-India basis under new commerce.
The two major announcements for small businesses at the 42nd AGM of RIL at Mumbai:
1. Jio will make connectivity and cloud infrastructure absolutely free for budding startups. It will make special connectivity services for startups available from 1 January 2021. To avail the service, startups can register on the Jio portal.
2. Jio connectivity and applications will be available for small and medium businesses at Rs 1,500 per month.
Reliance Industries Limited has invested in 14 startups that compliment Jio's services, said Mukesh Ambani.
With JioFiber, the company aims to empower 2.4 million SMEs (small and medium enterprises) and will provide MSMEs with cloud connectivity. Mukesh Ambani says that they also aim to connect 25 billion businesses on Jio GigaFiber.
