Only 2 Indians Among Top 50 Richest Persons Globally
As per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, only two Indians have featured in the bunch of top 50 richest persons globally. This may be surprising and can be a shock for Indian nationals but richest people around the world are struggling as their net worth remains highly fluctuating and it becomes difficult to hold on to the same position year after year.
Variations in net worth are a result of volatility in the respective equity shareholdings of the parent company or due to the value changes in enterprises' portfolio. In the list compiled by Bloomberg, Mukesh D Ambani, Chairman & Managing Director of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) ranks 18th in the list and is the richest businessman from India while Wipro Chairman Azim Premji is on the 48th spot. In accordance with its annual turnover, RIL is the biggest listed company in India.
