Expanding its international network, IndiGo announced the launch of a daily flight to Chengdu from New Delhi, on Friday. The flights will begin on 15 September for fares starting at Rs 8,999.

The budget carrier has opened bookings for this new route. "We are pleased to open bookings for Chengdu, our 20th international destination. Increased connectivity between India and China will attract Chinese tourists to the country, contributing to economic growth," the airline said.
The Gurugram-based airlines has been aggressively expanding its international reach. Earlier this month, it announced the launch of its first flight to Turkey.
In July, the airline said that it will also launch non-stop flights between Kolkata and Hanoi from 3 October. The operations are subject to regulatory approvals. At present, no Indian airlines has direct flight services to Vietnam. IndiGo said that it was expecting a rise in demand for Hanoi as a tourist destination.
