Air Fares To Get Costlier During Festive Season

There are a host of discount offers being rolled out by different airlines, but increase of fares in the peak festive season cannot be ruled out. Further, in respect of the Neo A320 aircraft, on which, the government is to intervene, there is cited that the issue will be addressed in some 4-6 months time. Also, in its respect few of the chiefs of the different airlines were called to discuss on the Neo aircraft which has seen glitches for the past 3 years.

Also, amid Jet Airways woes, different airlines were asked to augment their capacity base amid crunch in supply and they took on the opportunity steadily with a major grab in market share. In April, after Jet Airways shut its operations, there had been created a void of 110 planes.

Though the grounding of Jet Airways airline created pressure and there was seen a steep cut in airfares, a sudden increase in flight operation also led to lower airfares and more of competition.
