Airtel Launches 1 Gbps Broadband Plan At The Same Price As JioFiber
On Wednesday, Bharati Airtel launched ultra-fast broadband called the "Airtel Xstream Fibre" which provides a speed of 1 Gbps for Rs 3,999 a month. The offer comes with unlimited landline calls and some content freebies.
Interesting, the launch comes just a week after its rival Reliance Jio launched "JioFiber" which also offers its 1 Gbps connection plan at Rs 3,999 per month with 2,500 GB data.

The Airtel Xstream Fibre is currently available in cities of Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Indore, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.
Bharati Airtel will roll out the service in the other parts of India in phases.
Competition in broadband business intensifies
At a time when digital content consumption is fast growing in India, these major telecom companies are offering high-speed broadband services integrated with content and service platforms to give consumers more value for their money. They are also providing gaming and other smart home experiences.
Bharati Airtel had recently launched Airtel Xstream, a converged digital entertainment service, an Android-based OTT smart stick and an Android-based 4k Hybrid Smart Box that brings satellite TV and OTT content together. Airtel Xstream provides satellite TV channels, movies and TV shows in English and multiple Indian languages. Users will have access to all the popular OTT entertainment apps on one platform.
Existing home broadband operators are also providing streaming services like movies, music, sports and more to its customers to retain customers as competition intensifies.
