Vande Bharat Express From New Delhi To Katra To Be Flagged Off On Oct 3

Vande Bharat Express between New Delhi and Kartra is all set to finally ply and Home minister Amit Shah will flag off the new train on October 3. The final trial of the train will be completed by the national transporter on Saturday.

Prior to it, Piyush Goyal, Railways Minister, announced that the successful trials on the train are almost over and it shall be opened for public during the auspicious occasion of Navratras. The train has been built under the PM's most ambitious Make In India programme.

The Indian government mulls on introducing 40 semi-speed trains by the year 2022. For the same, different routes are being upgraded to accommodate the engineless train. As per officials, New Delhi to Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah rail route will become equipped to run Vande Bharat Express train by 2021.

Travel time will be reduced from 12 to 8 hours in the Vande Bharat Express train to Katra which will halt at 3 stations namely Ludhiana, Ambala and Jammu.
