No Rs. 2000 Bank Note Printed In FY20

And this is one probable reason by less of high value bank notes of Rs. 2000 are being dispensed by ATM machines. In FY 17, 3,542.991 million notes of Rs 2,000 denomination were printed and the number kept decreasing since then to only 111.507 million notes of the same denomination in FY18 and then just 46.690 million notes in FY19.

It is to be noted that these high value notes do not provide much room for easy hoarding. In Andhra – Tamil Nadu border, there was uncovered unaccounted cash totaling to Rs. 6 crore and the cash was in denomination of Rs. 2000 notes.
