On Sunday, Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) said that it has localised its website in six Indian languages to help homebuyers gain access to home loan related information more effectively.
In addition to English, the most used language in a digital platform, the mortgage lender's website content will be available in Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu.

HDFC Ltd further said that it is the only corporate in the financial sector to offer content on its website in six Indian languages.
The increase in the use of internet and smartphones and the large base of regional language users, especially in the smaller towns, has made it important to focus on building digital properties and content where relevant information can be made available in regional languages as well, it said.
"This is in line with Government's Digital India initiative to let customers access the digital content in the language they are comfortable with. HDFC's website in regional languages will help us tremendously to reach deeper across India to the untapped audience," said HDFC Ltd's Managing Director Renu Sud Karnad while speaking about the initiative.
