On Monday, Reliance Jio announced some new medium-priced tariff plans which are priced marginally lower than its existing packs and adjusted for interconnection usage charges (IUC). Customers can now choose from plans of Rs 222 for 1 month, Rs 333 for 2 months and Rs 444 for 3 months.
"The three-month 2 GB per day pack will now cost only Rs 444 instead of Rs 448 with additional 1,000 minutes of offnet IUC min which would have come at nearly Rs 80, separately," Jio said in a statement.

Similarly, prices of the two-month plan were cut down to Rs 333 with additional 1,000 minutes of outgoing calls. Jio claims that based on the IUC charges, an additional 1,000 minuted would have cost customers close to Rs 80, separately.
Price of the monthly pack of Rs 198 was increased to Rs 222 by adjusting cost of IUC calls worth Rs 80.
Calls between Jio customers will remain free.
Jio also said that its new recharge plans are cheaper by at least 20-50 percent in the market than other rival telecom operators.
Customers can also upgrade their existing one-month plans at Rs 111 as an additional payment over base plan provides for 1-month extra service.
