The opening ceremony will also be graced by an elite guest list, including Bollywood celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Ananya Panday, Madhuri Dixit, Janhvi Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, Ayushmann Khurrana, Triptii Dimri, Urvashi Rautela, and Sara Ali Khan, among others.

"Their presence is likely to add a touch of glamour and excitement to the highly anticipated event. Shah Rukh is expected to attend as his team is playing the opening match, and Salman might make an appearance to promote his upcoming film, Sikandar," a source close to the organisers told HT.

The IPL 2025 Opening Ceremony is scheduled for March 22, 2025, at 6:00 PM IST at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The star-studded event will set the stage for the highly anticipated opening match between the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), which will begin at 7:30 PM IST.

For the first time in IPL history, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has planned cultural performances at each of the 13 venues hosting their respective opening matches, according to several media reports. This initiative aims to enhance the IPL's vibrant atmosphere, bringing a mix of regional and national artists to the forefront. The complete list of performers for the remaining 12 venues is expected to be finalized by March 20.

IPL 2025: The 18th Edition Of The Cricket Extravaganza

The 18th edition of IPL will commence on March 22, 2025, and conclude with the final on May 25, 2025. The tournament will feature 74 matches across 13 venues, including 12 double-headers.

The league will continue with its existing format of 10 teams divided into two groups. The teams participating in IPL 2025 are: Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The IPL 2025 Final will be played on May 25 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, the same venue that will also host Qualifier 2 on May 23.
