Annapoorani Super Six Scheme

What is the Annapoorani Super Six Scheme?

As per the latest announcement, the Annapoorani Super Six scheme will officially roll out starting from the Pongal festival in 2027.

The LPG cylinders will not be physically provided; rather, the cost of each LPG cylinder will be credited directly to the bank accounts of eligible women beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer.

Approximately 1,30,16,104 women across Tamil Nadu are going to benefit from this rollout. The implementation of this welfare measure will incur an additional expenditure of around Rs. 4,000 crore for the state exchequer.

This means beneficiaries should not assume that the three-cylinder benefit is available immediately in August 2026. The government is expected to provide further details regarding registration, verification, payment mechanisms and eligibility before the scheme becomes operational.

Eligibility Criteria For Annapoorani Super Six Scheme

In order to be eligible for the Annapoorani Super Six Scheme, the annual family income must not exceed Rs. 2 lakh, since the scheme is particularly meant to cover economically vulnerable households. The government estimates that approximately 1.30 crore families could benefit from the scheme.

During the electoral promises, the scheme was announced, where six free LPG cylinders were promised, hence the name Super Six. However, the latest government announcement has made it clear that only three LPG cylinders per year will be provided to each family.

How to Apply For Annapoorani Super Six Scheme & Documents Required

The government has not yet released the complete official application and documentation procedure for the newly announced scheme.
However, just like other government schemes, the documents required for this proposed scheme could be Aadhaar, Tamil Nadu residence proof, ration card, LPG connection details and income-related documents. However, applicants should keep an eye on the official announcement by the government to release of detailed guidelines.

Currently, there is no confirmed official registration process as per the latest announcement. The government is expected to announce the detailed procedure before the scheme begins from Pongal 2027.
