3 Must Know Account Safety Rules By SBI To Counter Scammers

Online banking is the ideal option to conduct a quick and convenient banking experience, but only if you take some precautions and follow basic account safety guidelines to avoid scammers and fraudsters. As a result, the country's largest public sector bank, State Bank of India (SBI), has issued three safety tips to protect your bank account from fraudsters. In order to counter fake SMS frauds, SBI has said via its Twitter handle that "Ab aap bhi keejiye fake SMS ki dhulai by protecting your financial wicket. Stay alert of scammers by following safe banking habits."

Protect your financial wickets from scammers and do not click on unknown links, never share OTP, and block friend requests from strangers, SBI has warned.

SBI has issued a warning via its Twitter account on the rise in phishing link frauds stating that "Are you receiving these links in your inbox? Steer Clear! Clicking on these phishing links could lead to loss of your personal and confidential information. Stay alert. Think before you click!"

If you have received a free gift from the National Bank of India then do not take the bait and as a result, you should and should beware of phishing links offering freebies.

Unknown websites could be hazardous to your account credentials when it comes to account privacy, hence SBI has issued a warning via its Twitter handle that "Cookies are used to improve your web browsing experience. However, some cookies from unauthentic, unsafe websites could be harmful to your privacy. Be alert and stay safe with SBI."

SBI has warned in a video Tweet that "Not all cookies are safe, some come with monsters and steal your data. Do not accept cookies from unknown and unsafe websites. These cookies can steam your personal data and harm you."
