7th CPC: This State Govt To Provide Pension On The Retirement Day To Govt Employees
The state government employees of Assam would get their pension amount on the day of retirement according to the latest updates of the Government of Assam (GoA). Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Tuesday that the GoA is striving to commence a system that will allow government employees to get their pension on the day of their retirement. Via his Twitter handle Sarma said that "Pensions should be disbursed fast and in a hassle-free manner. I reiterated this in a review with Directorate of Pension, and took stock of pendency of pension cases and disbursal rate. GoA is working towards a system of providing pension on day of retirement to govt employees."
He also stated that "To make pension disbursement system paperless & swift, directed Assam Electronics Dvpt Corp Ltd (AMTRON) to align Kritagyata & AMTRON pension portals & link with treasury offices. Directorate of Pension to aim at disposal of 1500 pension cases per month, from now onwards."

Directorate of Pension to aim at disposal of 1500 pension cases per month, from now onwards.
The GoA also requested AMTRON to install a scanner in each Drawing and Disbursing Officer's (DDO) office, where an assistant would upload the pensioner's paperwork, which the Directorate will then download and disburse following digital signature for effective verification.
Pensioners should have to submit their paperwork or documents with their signature six months before their retirement date for their Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) to be issued on their retirement day.
Pensioners should also need to know that AMTRON is the first state-owned PSU in India to be granted a national level NLD, ILD, and ISP licence. This National Long Distance (NLD), International Long Distance (ILD) and Internet Service Provider (Category-A) Licence agreement was signed between the Department of Telecommunications, and Assam Electronics Development Corporation (AMTRON) ON 29th July 2021.
