On June 26th, 2021, the National Council of JCM, which represents central government employees, will meet with representatives from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Ministry of Finance. Now, this is a positive sign for roughly 52 lakh central government employees and 60 lakh central government pensioners in terms of their Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) benefits. The scheduled meeting's primary subject would be the settlement of 7th pay commission DA arrears to central government employees and the payment of 7th pay commission DR benefits to retired central government employees.

The National Council (JCM) was notified of the decision, and the meeting would be headed by India's cabinet secretary. Shiva Gopal Mishra Secretary Staff Side/NC JCM said that on June 26th, 2021, an official meeting between officials from the Ministry of Finance's Department of Expenditure, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), and representatives from JCM would take place. The conference will be presided over by India's cabinet secretary, according to the sources. Regarding the meeting's agenda, Shiva Gopal Mishra of the National Council of JCM replied that the central government employees' and central government pensioners' 7th CPC DA and 7th CPC DR benefits will be discussed during the meeting. The officials will address the DA and DR arrears payments owed to central government employees and central government retirees for the months of 1.1.2020, 1.7.2020, and 1.1.2021, respectively.
As a result, the National Council of the JCM is hopeful that this conference would result in some good news for central government employees and retirees. Mishra has previously stated that the JCM has suggested to the cabinet secretary's office, the Department of Expenditure, and the Department of Personnel and Training that if the central government is unable to pay DA and DR arrears all at once, they can pay them in instalments. The conference, which will be held on June 26th, 2021, was slated on May 8th. But the meeting was postponed, unfortunately, because of the spread of Covid-19. The central government has concluded that DA and DR benefits for central government employees and retirees will be resumed on July 1, 2021, however, no official statement has been made about the three instalments of DA and DR arrears settlement.
