Aadhaar Hackathon 2021, By UIDAI, To Be Organized On October, 28: Details

Aadhaar Hackathon 2021 is going to be organized by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on October 28, 2021, that will aim at the young innovators in India. The Hackathon will continue till October 31, this year. The motto of the Aadhaar Hackathon 2021 is to provide a platform to students of Engineering institutes who want to walk into the practical world. The Ministry of Electronics and IT, India will be conducting the Hackathon. To make this a successful event, the UIDAI is reaching out to the young innovators of all the Engineering colleges, operating in India. Hackathon 2021 is the first-ever event being conducted by UIDAI of this kind.

Themes of the Hackathon

The Aadhaar Hackathon 2021 has 2 distinguished themes - 'Enrolment and Update', and 'Identity and Authentication'. The first these, 'Enrolment and Update' will include aspects related to real-life issues that are faced by the Indians to update their addresses. The second theme, 'Identity and Authentication' will include aspects of 'innovative solutions to prove Identity without sharing the Aadhaar card number' or any other related demographics information of the citizens. Additionally, it will focus on innovative applications regarding face authentication API. API has been launched by UIDAI as a new authentication modality.

Rewards and registration

Winners, under each theme, will be rewarded by the UIDAI. The winners will receive prize money and other benefits. Registration forms for the event will also be available on this portal.

UIDAI in an official statement mentioned, "Innovation is the Aadhaar of life. Innovation, mixed with cutting-edge open source technology can help in solving some of the challenges being faced by the Residents. Come and participate in the Hackathon 2021 - the first-ever event being conducted by UIDAI and stand yourself a chance to become part of the Digital Journey of India."

In a release, PIB informed, "Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given a clarion call to celebrate the 75th year of Independence of India, as the AzadikaAmritMahotsav. It is a year to celebrate innovations in the field of technology and elevate service delivery to the next level. This year is also important for Aadhaar, as it is transitioning to the next decade of its existence, with a renewed objective to further improvise resident experience and various services offered by the UIDAI."
