The updation of unique biometric enabled 12-digit Aadhaar ID is crucial as it is most looked upon ID and address proof for Indian citizens. For making any updates in any of the field such as address, demographic and other details, there are two options, one of visiting the Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Aadhaar Enrollment center and the other route is through the online means.

And as per the tweet from the Aadhaar issuing body UIDAI, charges for updation of one or more field shall be Rs. 100 in a case if the bio-metrics are also updated. And if only demographic details are modified there shall be a fee of Rs. 50 only.

And for such updation as in the name of the Aadhaar holder, date of birth or address, UIDAI accepts 32 documents in lieu of identity proof, 45 for address proof and 15 documents which can verify the person's date of birth. This is other than the usual requirement for the application form being submitted for making the update and fee.
