On Friday, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) said that it will mandatory for passengers to have Aarogya Setu App downloaded on their mobile phones. The airport operator has released its own set of guidelines for travellers as airports across India get ready to resume operations in a graded manner.

As per its guidelines, passengers are required to:
1. Mandatorily download and use the Aarogya Setu app.
2. Wear a mask and other protective gear.
3. Maintain 4-feet physical distance from their co-passengers.
4. Do web check-in. Carry a print out of the boarding card.
5. Wash or sanitise hands frequently.
6. Co-operate with the airport staff.
Earlier on 13 May, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security had also issued its own set of orders that require passengers to follow the social distancing and health protocols in light of the COVID-19 spread in India.
Passengers have been allowed to carry a liquid hand sanitiser of up to 350 ml in hand or cabin baggage.
To reduce touchpoints between passengers and security staff, stamping of boarding passes has also been suspended.
The decision comes after at least 13 CISF personnel, who were posted at airports in Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, were tested positive for COVID-19.
Domestic passenger flights are expected to be resume soon in India in a graded manner after being suspended for over 50 days.
