Accenture Appoints Ajay Vij As Country Managing Director; Rekha Menon To Retire

Global IT and consulting giant Accenture said on Friday that Ajay Vij has been appointed as country's managing director India and that Sandeep Dutta would take over as the lead for its India market unit.

Rekha M. Menon, senior managing director and chairperson for Accenture in India, announced her retirement from the company on June 30 after 20 years of service.The newly appointed individuals will now handle the chairperson's major duties.

Menon's responsibilities at the company throughout her tenure there included expanding its business and fostering partnerships with key parties, such as the sector, the government, and clients. "She pioneered the India corporate citizenship strategy and championed the company's inclusion and diversity agenda," Accenture said.

Vij's current responsibilities as the corporate services and sustainability lead for India would be expanded as the national managing director in order to provide comprehensive leadership and encourage coordinated decision-making for critical company activities. For almost 17 years, Vij has been employed by Accenture.

Dutta, the India Sales Lead, will now be in charge of Accenture's India Market Unit. As the country's business lead, he will be in charge of driving operations and business in the local market while putting a special emphasis on customers, growth, and market uniqueness. Piyush Singh is succeeded by Dutta. Dutta's job responsibilities have been expanded, and he is now in charge of interacting with neighbourhood business associations and speaking on behalf of Accenture before regional trade associations.
