Adesso & Hitachi Digital Services Expand Collaboration Across Enterprise Technology
German technology consulting firm adesso SE and Hitachi Digital Services have recently inked a strategic partnership which is focussing on helping global enterprises speed up digital transformation through artificial intelligence, cloud modernisation, digital engineering and IT/OT convergence.
The tie-up was announced in Bengaluru on August 6th during the event Hitachi Hour with adesso & Hitachi Digital Services. The event was attended by senior leaders from both organisations who discussed the changing demands of enterprise transformation and the need to combine industry knowledge and advanced technology to provide good business outcomes.

In his speech, Mark Lohweber, CEO of adesso SE, said, " a successful transformation is ultimately driven by people and collaboration, adding that as enterprises navigate increasingly complex technology environments, strong teams, effective communication and trusted partnerships matter as much as the technology itself."
Vijay Srinivasan, Chief Growth Officer, Hitachi Digital Services, said "the collaboration combines Hitachi's capabilities in industrial digital transformation, AI, cloud modernisation, digital engineering and IT/OT convergence with adesso's consulting expertise, regional market knowledge and existing enterprise relationships."
India's Role in this Partnership
The partnership shows India's growing importance to adesso's global business. The company plans to use India's skilled engineers and technology expertise to support and deliver projects worldwide. Teams in India and Europe will work together across different projects, industries and markets so India is now an important centre for engineering and collaboration.
Speaking to GoodReturns at the event, Pramod Muralidharan, Managing Director and Country Manager, adesso India, clarified that the India business is not primarily built around acquiring Indian clients. Instead, its purpose is to give adesso the agentic delivery scale needed to serve its core client base, mainly German and European enterprises, many of whom also operate Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India. "We do work with core German customers, so it was important for us to be closer to the customers wherever they are," he said, adding that adesso does take on Indian engagements, but mostly through inbound interest, including servicing GCCs.
Talking about the focussed sector focus, Muralidharan said "Adesso India's core areas are financial services like banking and insurance, automotive, manufacturing, and pharma and life sciences, with some of retail clients and GCC engagements layered on top."
When asked about the importance of the Hitachi Digital Services partnership at this moment , Muralidharan called it "quite important," since both companies see bringing customer value as central to the collaboration.
He said " both firms complement each other by combining Hitachi's delivery scale with adesso's experience of local markets and its ability to move up and down the value stream for customers, all delivered through what he described as an "agentic delivery model."
Sustainability Concerns and India Investment Plans
Questioned on how sustainable the IT industry itself is, given ongoing scrutiny of data centre power and water consumption, Muralidharan acknowledged it as a "very tricky conversation," but said the industry has at least stopped ignoring the problem, even if it is still unsolved.
