Air India Back in China: Delhi-Shanghai Flights To Resume After 6 Years; Check Schedule & Booking Details

Air India has recently announced the much-awaited resumption of its non-stop flights between Delhi and Shanghai (PVG) will begin on 1st February 2026.

The airline is returning to China nearly six years later, after renewed India-China diplomatic engagement, and the bilateral air links that were suspended in early 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic are now restored.

Air India had first launched non-stop flights to China in October 2000, and Shanghai was the 48th international destination served by the Air India Group. The airline has also confirmed that, subject to regulatory clearances, it plans to launch Mumbai-Shanghai non-stop flights later in 2026, which will further expand India-China travel options.

Delhi-Shanghai Flight Details

As per the press release by the company, Air India will operate four weekly flights between Delhi (DEL) and Shanghai (PVG), using its twin-aisle Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The aircraft will have both business class and economy class seats.

Delhi-Shanghai Flights Flight Schedule from 1st February 2026

AI352: Delhi to Shanghai--This flight will run Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and the departure is scheduled at 12:00 hrs with arrival at 20:20 hrs.

AI351: Shanghai to Delhi--The return flight will operate on the same days, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, departing from China at 22:00 hrs and arriving at 03:15 hrs (+1 day).

Booking Details

Bookings for the Delhi-Shanghai Air India flights are being progressively opened across all platforms, including the Air India website, mobile app, airport ticketing offices, customer contact centres and global travel agents.
Passengers planning international travel between India and China can now secure tickets for the 2026 operations well in advance.
