Air India Extends Deadline For Voluntary Retirement Applications To May 31st

Tata-owned Air India has extended the last date for its employees to apply for voluntary retirement until May 31, 2023. The earlier deadline was April 30.

"...please note that the last date to apply for Voluntary Retirement for all the eligible employees has been extended till May 31, 2023. However, the acceptance of the application and the date of release will continue to be subject to management's discretion," the carrier said in a statement.

The change occurred after the airline extended the offer to its non-flying employees in March. This was the Tata Group's second offer since assuming control of the airline in January of last year.

Air India

Air India issued its second voluntary retirement offer for non-flying employees in March. Clerical and unskilled workers who have worked for the carrier for at least five years continuously and who are permanent general cadre officers over the age of 40 were also given the offer. The offer is available to employees from March 17, 2023, through April 30, 2023.

In June 2022, the preliminary round was revealed. 11,000 employees, both flying and non-flying, work for Air India. Air India established Vihaan.AI in September 2022 with the goal of being a top-tier international airline with a heart for India. Along with making the airline a leader in technology, sustainability, and innovation, the plan also contained initiatives for increasing the airline's dependability and on-time performance. It also put a lot of effort into growing the network and the fleet.
