Air Traffic Increases 34% MoM In August

Domestic air traffic passenger traffic increased 33.8 percent month on month, revealed DGCA on Thursday-September 16. The total passenger load during the reviewed period month stood at 67.01 lakh in comparison to 50.07 lakh in July.

The passenger traffic increased by over 50% when compared to the same period of last year, when it was barely at 28.32 lakhs. In the current scenario, flight restrictions have eased and also the corona situation is better, that has led people to take on to air travel.

As of August 2021, the airlines in the country are operating at a 72.5 percent capacity in comparison to 45% in August 2020.

On a month on month basis, PLF or passenger load factor of major airlines saw an improvement with Indigo's PLF increasing to 74% from 66% in July.
