The new Airtel postpaid plans will be applicable from October 8. Existing postpaid customers will also be migrated to the nearest higher plan within a month of the new plans coming into effect, according to company sources.
Airtel Postpaid Tariff Hike From October 8
The latest revision effectively means Airtel postpaid customers will pay Rs. 50 more per month under the new plans. Over a year, the additional cost works out to Rs. 600, assuming the customer remains on the plan for 12 months.
However, Airtel is bundling an international roaming benefit with the revised plans. The company has valued the free roaming benefit at around Rs. 2,000, making the offer particularly relevant for customers who travel overseas at least once a year.
The company has not disclosed all plan-wise revised prices in the information currently available, so customers should check Airtel's communication regarding their specific plan before the migration.
Airtel Free International Roaming Benefit
Under the new Airtel postpaid plans, customers will get one free international roaming trip every year.
The complimentary roaming pack is designed for short international trips and includes 5GB of data, 60 minutes of calls and 25 outgoing SMS for five days. Incoming SMS will remain free.
One of the key features is that customers can activate the five-day roaming pack when they actually need it.For customers on Airtel family postpaid plans, each eligible family member can avail the free international roaming benefit, according to the company.
Airtel Postpaid Advantage Club Benefits
Airtel is also giving additional benefits available through its Postpaid Advantage Club. Customers can access entertainment subscriptions and exclusive experiences, including comedy shows, movie premieres and concerts, according to the company's announcement.
Existing Airtel postpaid subscribers do not need to immediately change their plans. The company will move existing customers to the nearest higher plan within one month of the October 8 rollout.
