Akasa Air To Launch Its First Flight Between Mumbai-Ahmedabad On August 7

On Friday, the new carrier Akasa Air informed that it will take off its first commercial flight on August 7 between Mumbai-Ahmedabad using Boeing 737 Max aircraft.

On the company's official site, it says We are open for sale. Booking open now. The company in a statement mentioned that it has opened sales of its tickets for 28 weekly flights it will be operating on Mumbai-Ahmedabad route from August 7, as well as on 28 weekly flights it will operating on Bengaluru-Kochi route from August 13.

The minimum fare on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route for one-way flight is pegged at Rs. 3948. At first the carrier shall connect 4 cities.

Praveen Iyer, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said," We kick-start operations with flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, with the brand-new Boeing 737 Max aircraft."

"We will adopt a phased approach to support our network expansion plans, progressively connecting more cities, as we add two aircraft to our fleet each month, in our first year," he added.

Akasa Air, a brand of SNV Aviation Private Limited, is an Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The company is backed by billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. It was founded in December 2021.

The airline has ordered as many as 72 Boeing 737 Max aircraft and shall induct 37 by December of 2024

"We want to be a compassionate airline with a focus on being dependable, warm, efficient and reliable," co-founder and chief marketing and experience officer Belson Coutinho said.
