The streaming service shared the update through a promotional post featuring a new poster of the film. "Why fear, when the legend Balayya is here. Watch Akhanda 2 on Netflix, out 9 January in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam," the streamer wrote on Instagram alongside a poster of the film.

Akhanda 2: Thaandavam will release on Netflix OTT platform in 2021. The new chapter again features Balakrishna in central roles, with the story expanding the earlier film's fantasy action setting.
