Akhanda 2 Thaandavam Release Date: Speculations have emerged that the much-awaited Telegu action movie, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, can be released on December 12. As per the latest reports, the Tollywood superstar has likely agreed to adjust about Rs 20 crore from his own remuneration to help the movie's producers in their pending dues. While another report said the next court hearing between the makers and financers could be held on Monday.

Akanda 2 Release Date Postponed:

According to Tupaki report, the court hearing could take place on Monday since Saturday and Sunday are holidays. If the court gives a favorable decision, the chances of the movie being released on the 12th are high. But with any delay in decision, the release may become difficult.

As per reports, director Boyapati Srinu has agreed to give up the remaining payment that was due to him. Srinu reportedly received Rs 9 crore during the first Akhanda movie; however, his total payment is said to be Rs 35 crore for the sequel. Out of the total, about Rs 25 crore is reportedly paid to him. He has reportedly agreed to let go of outstanding payment but will not give back the payments already done to him.

Furthermore, a report by Deccan Chronicle. Nandamuri Balakrishna has also agreed to adjust Rs 20 crore from his remuneration to help the producers clear pending dues and bring the project back on track.

Also, reports have said that the makers are likely on the final stages of resolving on ongoing petition at Madras High Court.

Another report also said a TDP Member of Parliament has also stepped to offer financial backing to the makers.

Akhanda 2 New Release Date:

The 14 Reels Plus, who is the distributor of the movie, said through X handle, "We've tried our absolute best to bring Akhanda 2 to the big screens, but despite our tireless efforts, sometimes, the most unexpected things happen, and unfortunately, this is that time."

However, 14 Reels Plus also added that "Akhanda 2 will hit the bullseye whenever it arrives." Lastly, they said, "Coming very soon with a new date."

Initially, Akhanda 2 was scheduled to release on December 5th but was postponed due to disagreement and financial crisis with the makers and other entities involved. The next date for release was expected to be December 12. But reports have said the date could be postponed because of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster 'Avatar: Fire And Ash' release on December 19. Accordingly, it is predicted Akhanda 2 could hit Indian theaters on December 25 to grab masses during the Christmas holiday.

Sacnilk cited that a new report suggests a major development in the situation. According to sources, Netflix, the film's post-theatrical streaming partner, is reportedly pushing the makers for a December 25 release. The streaming giant is keen to capitalize on the Christmas and New Year's holiday period, which is a very lucrative time for both theatrical and OTT releases. With OTT platforms now having a significant influence on the business of films, their preferences for release dates are often taken very seriously by producers. This new push from Netflix could be the key factor in determining when Akhanda 2 will finally hit the big screen, giving fans a new ray of hope for a holiday release.
