Akshaya Tritiya 2026/Gold Rates & Silver Rates Live Updates: 24K, 22K, 18K Gold Prices Jump Ahead Akha Teej

Gold rates and silver rates in India climbed sharply ahead of the celebration of Akshaya Tritiya on April 19, which is an auspicious occasion for Indian devotees to buy precious metals. The demand is expected to be high on Akha Teej. On April 18, 24 carat gold price climbed as high as Rs 8,100 per 100 grams, while the 1Kg silver rate in India jumped to Rs 2.75 lakh mark.

Ahead of Akshaya Tritiya, MCX gold and silver prices also witnessed healthy traction. By end of April 17th trading session, MCX gold price is at Rs 1,54,605 per 10 grams and MCX silver crossed above Rs 2.61 lakh mark before ending around Rs 2.58 lakh zone.

Meanwhile, spot gold and spot silver in the global market also extended their rally to close their fourth weekly gain. Spot gold surged above $4,850 per ounce and spot silver neared $81 per ounce. This is due to a sharp decline in crude oil prices by 9% to 12% as the news of the Strait of Hormuz opening for commercial shipping calmed the energy crisis concern.

Akshaya Tritiya is the beginning of Satyug, which symbolizes divine blessings and prosperity. It is believed that the Sun's peak radiance on Akha Teej is auspicious for new beginnings, new investments and new decisions. But did you know the meaning of Akshaya is 'never diminishing,' and precious metals like gold are seen as a long-term wealth-creating investment option for Indian households? It's not just about investment; gold is seen as a safeguard for the future while offering long-term prosperity. Hence, the demand for gold, silver, platinum, diamonds and other jewelleries will be high on this day.
