A strategic partnership was announced between AKSI Aerospace Group and FIXAR Global for licensed drone manufacturing in India. This agreement, valued at up to Rs 85 crore, was revealed during Aero India-2025 in Bengaluru. It represents a pivotal moment for India's drone sector, enhancing the nation's self-sufficiency in drone production and establishing it as a global manufacturing hub, according to Pankaj Akula, chairperson and CEO of AKSI.

Drone Manufacturing and Self-Reliance
Under this agreement, AKSI Aerospace Group will produce drones domestically for both local and international markets. The company will utilise its expertise in developing drone subsystems like navigation systems, propulsion, batteries, airframe composites, and imaging systems. By manufacturing these essential components internally, AKSI aims to decrease reliance on foreign imports while ensuring secure and high-quality drone production.
FIXAR Global's Role and Expansion
FIXAR Global is recognised as a prominent software and aircraft design developer, specialising in commercial autonomous drones for industrial use. The company has a significant presence across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Through an extensive network of distribution partners, FIXAR provides top-tier drone solutions globally. The collaboration with AKSI Aerospace Group allows FIXAR to expand its manufacturing operations in India for international markets.
Enhancing Production Capabilities
The partnership leverages AKSI's advanced production facilities, quality control measures, training programmes, and maintenance capabilities. This collaboration aims to scale up manufacturing operations efficiently. "By collaborating with AKSI Aerospace Group, FIXAR aims to scale its manufacturing operations in India for global markets," the statement read.
This agreement not only strengthens India's position in the global drone industry but also underscores the importance of self-reliance in advanced technology sectors. It highlights the potential for growth and innovation within the country's aerospace industry.
