Aligarh businessman death: Narottam Singh found in under-construction house, Kwarsi police investigate

Police in Aligarh are investigating the death of local businessman Narottam Singh after his body was recovered from an under-construction house in Chilkorra village under the Kwarsi police station area. Family said he left on a two-wheeler with neighbour Kanhaiya and later went missing. Two brothers of the suspect have been detained for questioning.

Police said the body of local businessman Narottam Singh was found on Tuesday evening. The body was inside an under-construction house in Chilkorra village, near Aligarh. The site falls under the Kwarsi police station area. Officers said a knife was found near the body. Police believe it was used to slit the victim’s throat.

Police identified Narottam Singh as a petrol pump owner from the Doharra locality. Doharra is a short distance from where the body was recovered. Senior officials and forensic teams reached the spot after a crowd gathered. They began collecting evidence and recording initial statements from people nearby.

Family members said Narottam Singh was last seen in the forenoon. Narottam Singh left home on a two-wheeler with a close acquaintance and neighbour, Kanhaiya. When Narottam Singh did not return by the afternoon, the family called repeatedly. Police said the phone was switched off, which increased the family’s concern.

The family then started searching and later received information about the under-construction house. Police said the body was found in the evening inside the building. The house was allegedly owned by Kanhaiya. After the discovery, people from nearby areas arrived quickly. Police then secured the location for further checks.

Aligarh murder case: arrests and investigation details

Senior Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar said the reason for the killing was still unclear. Police said two brothers of Kanhaiya were arrested for questioning. Investigators also recovered the knife near the body. Police said a district-wide search operation was launched to arrest the main accused.

Police added that Narottam Singh’s son is a senior leader of the district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha. Officers continued questioning and field searches across the district on Tuesday evening. Police said more details would depend on forensic findings and statements. The case remains under investigation as the suspect is traced.
