All Major Financial Markets Closed For Ganesh Chaturthi Festival

All major financial markets, including BSE, NSE, forex, commodity and money markets, are closed on Friday on account of 'Ganesh Chaturthi'.

The morning session of commodity markets is closed, but it will reopen in the evening. The stock exchanges will return for business on Monday, September 13th.

After a lacklustre trading day on Thursday, the major equity indices closed flat for another day. Companies in the media sector were in high demand, while bank and financial stocks were under pressure.

On Thursday, Wall Street finished lower after weekly unemployment claims fell to a near 18-month low, assuaging fears of a sluggish economic recovery.
