All-Out War Possible, Says Pakistan Defence Minister Amid Rising India-Pak Tensions After Pahalgam Terror Atta

India and Pakistan are inching toward a serious conflict after the shocking Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 innocent people, mostly tourists, were killed. The attack has left the whole country in deep pain and anger. People across India are demanding strong action against those who are responsible. Currently, with emotions running high and both countries exchanging strong words, the possibility of a war-like situation is starting to take shape.

In a recent interview with British news channel Sky News, Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif made a very strong statement where he dismissed any official involvement of Pakistanis in the Pahalgam terror strike.

Khwaja Asif, in that interview, stated, "I think India should not be resorting to such measures; this will escalate the situation, and there's a possibility that there is an outbreak of all-out war, which will have serious repercussions not only for our region and our countries but for the rest of the world also."

Following the devastating Pahalgam terror attack India has taken swift diplomatic measures including the expulsion of Pakistani diplomats, cancellation of visas for Pakistani nationals, and suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. Prime Minister Modi also chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the response, while Home Minister Amit Shah visited the attack site. Additionally, security has been heightened in Punjab and other border states given the sensitivity of the situation.

Cross-Border Escalation On The Rise

The situation on the ground is increasing slowly; Indian naval and air surveillance has reportedly intensified, with military assets like INS Vikrant being spotted patrolling the Arabian Sea today. Intelligence sources suggest increased alertness at the Line of Control (LoC), while Indian defence forces remain tight-lipped about any operational plans that they might carry out.

Pahalgam Terror Attack

Pakistani forces are reportedly on high alert after Khawaja Asif's warning, with military activities happening near important border areas. This has led to growing doubts that Pakistan might be protecting those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack, even if they haven't openly supported them.

India-Pakistan With A History of Tensions

This is not the first time that Kashmir has been the centre point of tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours. However, what makes the current situation particularly alarming is the scale of civilian casualties and the immediate diplomatic fallout. India has already summoned Pakistan's envoy and expressed grave concern over cross-border terror emanating from its territory.

The Pahalgam incident is being described as one of the deadliest non-combat civilian attacks in the region in recent years, sparking demands from both the public and political leadership in India for a strong military response. With general elections also around the corner, the pressure on the Indian government to act decisively is mounting by the day.

What's Next For Both Countries?

As war-like sentiments build on both sides of the border, the global community watches with bated breath. Will India opt for a retaliatory strike as it did during the Balakot airstrikes post-Pulwama? Or will international pressure push both nuclear-armed countries toward diplomatic de-escalation? In the meantime, the families of the Pahalgam victims continue to mourn, hoping their deaths won't go unanswered. The Indian public, deeply shaken and angered, now looks to its leadership for action, justice, and above all, security.
