The popular actor came under scrutiny after his visit to a theatre in Hyderabad which led to a massive stampede, resulting in the death of a woman and her son succumbing to serious injuries. As per a Telugu news channel, Eenadu, on December 5, Arjun visited during the premiere of his movie Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre on RTC Cross Road in Hyderabad. That day was Wednesday and at around 9.40 pm, a large number of fans flooded the theatre.

Central Zone DCP Akshansh Yadav revealed that the police were not informed that the key actors in the movie along with the fans would come to the theatre. Also, the theatre management did not inform them. He further revealed that the management did not take any precautions as well. He added, there was no security arrangement at the theatre entry and exit to control the public, the Eenadu report said.

The news report of the stampede broke during the occurrence of the event. During the stampede, a 39-year-old woman Revathi and her son Sri Tej were critically injured. As per the reports, police personnel pulled them out of the crowd and performed CPR, further rushing them to the hospital. Revathi was declared dead and her reportedly 13-year-old son is still in critical condition.

Earlier, it was reported that Hyderabad police had arrested three people who had connections to the stampede. They were the theatre owner and two managers.

Arjun had expressed his condolences for the tragic incident and even announced Rs 25 lakh financial assistance to the family of the deceases.
